AMESA 4-7 Mathematics Challenge

Dates for Challenge 2001:
First Round written in the schools: 10 October 2001
Final Round written in the regions: 31 October 2001

Challenge 2001 is an activity enabling all learners to participate in the National Mathematics Week (8-12 October). Last year more than 70 000 learners participated in the Challenge, and we hope that this year it will be even more!

The Challenge is intended as a vehicle to popularise mathematics and to enhance the quality of the teaching and learning of mathematics. The Challenge tests conceptual knowledge, the application of knowledge in new situations, problem solving and general mathematical thinking. The Challenge can support Curriculum 2005 to help South Africans become empowered independent and creative thinkers! And we believe mathematics is accessible to all, not just the select few!
